What is Reach More Mission Training?

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Reach More is a process of missionary discipleship formation and training. It’s not a program. It’s a twelve-week adventure of discovery, prayer, community, skills, and habit formation to help you become a happier, more effective Catholic as a friend, spouse, parent, co-worker, neighbor, listener, witness, etc.

It includes a daily commitment to personal prayer, a group session each week, and one-on-one time with a point person every other week for personalized conversations about applying the content and goals of the training.

The group sessions include video content, discussion, Scripture, and training workshops to give you tools to have richer conversations, ask better questions, facilitate Scripture discussion, and pray for others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions people have for us. If you still can’t find the answer you’re looking for, contact us!

It’s for Catholics who want to:

  • grow closer to Jesus
  • learn how to make more of an impact for God’s Kingdom within their existing relationships
  • build community with fellow parishioners who strive for the same things

Every Christian is called to participate in the mission of the Church: to evangelize the world and make disciples of all nations. This isn’t a cringe-worthy task, but a life-giving adventure! If the “E-word” (evangelization) seems off-putting or out of reach to you, or if you’d love to spread the faith but don’t know how best to do it, then you’ll be glad to discover and grow in the Heart and Habits of Mission. These are foundational, bridge-building, effective ways to be good news (“gospel”) in and to the world. Reach More equips you to live them out.

  • Seek Intimacy with Jesus. This is the heart of all discipleship and mission.
  • Sanctify Ordinary Life. Seek, find, and build the kingdom in daily work and secular interests.
  • Invest in Relationships. Practice the building blocks of relationship and the art of conversation.
  • Love the Lost and the Least. Join in God’s compassion and urgent concern for those most in need of his mercy and help.
  • Intercede through Prayer and Fasting. Join Jesus’ ongoing intercession for all of creation to be filled with the glorious freedom of God’s love.
  • Meet People Where They Are. Then help them take the next step. Use the Thresholds of Deepening Conversion to grow in attentiveness.
  • Ask about Experiences of Faith. Seize the right opportunities to discuss the deeper things.
  • Share Your Good News. You have stories of God’s victory in your life. He’s changing you. Sometimes, others need to hear about it.
  • Facilitate Discipleship Environments. Where two or three are gathered in his name, Jesus is present. God’s word is living and effective.
  • Establish Disciples. Form them in the Heart and Habits of Discipleship. Go and make disciples of all nations.

Reach More Mission Training is not about getting something from you for the parish; it’s something your parish is offering for you: to encourage, bless, equip, and support you in the life you’re already living. What you do after the training is entirely up to you and the Lord. There’s no commitment to lead anything for the parish, volunteer in a new or existing effort, or lead this training for others.

Most people who experience this training find themselves inspired and motivated from the inside to discern more attentively where and how the Lord is calling them to make an impact: in their families, communities, workplaces, parishes, etc. Some start small groups; some see their work or families or current ministries with new eyes and renewed confidence; some bring more thoughtfulness and intentionality into a few existing friendships. People have done all kinds of things as a result of the spiritual and relational fuel this experience gave them. But it’s all a matter of free choice, personal discernment, and desire. Once again, this isn’t a program. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question, “What should I do next?”

Reach More Mission Training is only available through parishes and faith communities that partner with the Evangelical Catholic (EC) for coaching, consulting, and ongoing support. We (the EC) partner with pastoral staff and leaders who want to do things differently for the long haul. We help them build and shepherd a growing network of joyful, Spirit-filled lay people who live out their varied callings with prayerfulness, excellence, and contagious faith.

The fact that you are receiving this invitation to Reach More Mission Training means that your pastor or leader has invested in providing your community with this powerful resource and way of life. It also means they are excited to connect with you, learn from and with you, and support you more fully in your lay vocation to radiate the love of Jesus into the world.
