The Evangelical Catholic (EC) is a Catholic apostolate that partners with parishes, dioceses, and campus ministries to equip laypeople for mission in their everyday lives. Founded in 1998, EC empowers individuals and communities to live out the Church’s evangelizing mission with confidence and clarity, forming intentional disciples who bring the light of Christ into homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

At the heart of EC’s work is a time-tested framework of spiritual multiplication and personal accompaniment, rooted deeply in Catholic tradition and aligned with the call to a new evangelization. Through customized training, resources, and coaching, EC helps ministry leaders ignite a culture of mission that is sustainable, impactful, and authentically Catholic.

About Priests for an Apostolic Age

 

Priests for an Apostolic Age (PFAA) is a conference experience designed specifically for priests to give them the skills and tools they need to activate their parishioners as effective Catholic missionaries in their own communities. “Priests for an Apostolic Age” provides priests with the opportunity to gather with others who share similar convictions on evangelization, learn how an outdated understanding of the parish could be holding them back, and how to leverage their influence to activate a movement of missionary disciples.

  1. The Evangelical Catholic has been around since 1998. For those unfamiliar, can you briefly describe how the ministry began and what an “evangelical Catholic” is?
  2. The Evangelical Catholic is perhaps best known for forming lay people for missionary outreach. Why did you see it necessary to host an event specifically for priests and deacons?
  3. What can clergy expect by attending this conference?
  4. What are your greatest hopes in terms of short-term and long-term outcomes?
